We'd like you to star in our CMN Promo Video!
The Children's Music Network is making a promo video and we'd like to feature you! Have you seen those internet videos where people around the world all sing pieces of the same song and it's put together in one cool video? Well, that's what we're going to do.
This will be a collaborative project showcasing the talents of CMN members across the country and beyond. If you're coming to the CMN conference in Hyannis in October, we can shoot video and record audio of some people there, but we are very interested in getting a wide variety of backgrounds (mountains, cities, playgrounds, music rooms, fields of flowers, tunnels...anything visually interesting), so we encourage you to shoot in your home background.
Here's what you need to know:
What Tech Do I Need?
If you think this sounds like something beyond your technical capabilities, think again. All you need is a smartphone or video camera that records 1080p HD video (most smartphones do) and a way to play the music track on a different device through ear-buds or a headset so you can sing along in tune and in time.
What Will We Sing?
The song we will all be singing is Pam Donkin's "Let the World be Well." Here is a

the song. Each participating member will most likely only have one short phrase included in the final video, but we will do our best to fit in everyone who wants to participate. We will add some large group video from the CMN Conference in Hyannis in October.
Where Should I Sing?
We want to show the diversity of members, and the diversity of settings our members call home, so it's up to you what background you want to show, but if you plan to use the audio from the video file, quiet locations are preferred to avoid excess noise. The other option is to record a separate audio track, in which case, a noisy video background is fine because it will drop out, but any recognizable people need a model release.
Does Each Person Have to Sing Solo?
You may sing as your solo or group act, or team up and sing (and harmonize) with other CMN members in your area if you choose. You may also include children and family audiences as long as they sign the provided model release. However, you cannot bring in other non-CMN adults as backup.
We may choose to isolate a few children of different ages singing on a repeat of the first verse at the end. If you would like to ask your child or grandchild to try that and they can sing in tune, sign them up with your name and their name for the final verse on the sign up sheet. We'll consider the first 10 kids signed up and submitted.
When is it Due?
All video and any supplemental audio should be turned in by September 15, 2017 and, if we can't fit everyone in, early submissions get priority.
How Do I Sign Up?
There are six verses on the track but we only want each person or group to record one verse/chorus combo. So you can record the verse you select using the first verse in the track (the verse starts at :08) and we will position your vocals where we need it. Click this

and add your name, email address and phone number under the verse you would like to sing. If you have access to a setting that includes wildlife or the sea, you might want to choose those because fewer people will have those options.
