NPR News Cities Project: How Gentrification Changes Cities

This summer, NPR's Cities Project, a recurring series on urban life in the 21st Century, will be looking into gentrification -- how it changes the makeup of neighborhoods, pushing out and pricing out some longtime residents as newcomers renovate newly trendy neighborhoods. Local stations around the country are contributing to this biweekly series heard on Morning Edition and All Things Considered.

KGOU Wins in Annual AP Broadcasters' Contest

KGOU won the Sweepstakes Award for most total awards at the Arkansas-Oklahoma Associated Press Broadcasters awards ceremony held earlier this month. KGOU won four first-place plaques and three second-place honors for station-submitted entries of reports broadcast during the 2016 calendar year. The Oklahoma Engaged election reporting project won first place in the Government Reporting category; KGOU took top honors in the Spot News, Weather Coverage, and Use of Sound categories as well.

Science Friday: How to View the 'Great American Eclipse'

On August 21, many thousands of people will line up across the country -- from Corvallis, Oregon, to Goose Creek, South Carolina -- to catch a glimpse of a total solar eclipse. Science Friday is making preparations for coverage of this rare cosmic event.
