"Serving in the capacity of Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship has given me the opportunity to work with some amazing people, support some of the greatest students, and cultivate unforgettable relationships" said Tammy Robinson, NC Wesleyan's Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship.   

                                                               

One of the major events Tammy organizes and coordinates is Rock the Mount, which is held following the new student convocation in August.  Rock the Mount, an annual event, was created as a means to bridge the gap between NC Wesleyan College and the City of Rocky Mount and surrounding areas.   "When I stepped onto this campus, my thoughts were this is the best kept secret in Rocky Mount.  Not anymore!  Rock the Mount gives businesses the opportunity to share with our students, faculty, and staff.  It's a family affair...Bishop style!"                                                                                                                                           

As Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship, Tammy is actively involved with the Day for Wesleyan campaign, two student telefunds and the Show Your Love campaign.  For the student telefunds Tammy says, "I've been fortunate to train and assist our students with call sheets, scripts, and donor questions, even accepting their running man challenge if they met their goal for the night."  Last fiscal year, the students raised over $25,000 through the telefunds.  

Tammy says, "I love several things about my career at Wesleyan...scholarships that are created that make

 an impact in the lives of our students, event planning, mailing a thank you card, or picking up the phone to express gratitude and appreciation towards a donor who has supported Wesleyan in some way...be it the athletic department, academic programs, honor students, faculty or staff development or campus beautification...showing love to someone who has given to the college is the easiest and most fulfilling reward."

     

"NC Wesleyan has also given me the opportunity to be a blessing and to offer guidance as the advisor for one of our student organizations, BSA - Black Student Association.  BSA's purpose is "to promote education and cultural awareness in the community", and our motto is "rebel against ignorance; have the power to unite."  We encourage students to come 

and learn the facts about other cultures in hope to dispel stereotypes that generate often from the media."

When Tammy is not working, she loves to read, write, and dabble in some acting. She has written plays for churches and for several years  has played the part of Mrs. Armstrong in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever play at NC Wesley an. "Roger Drake also trusted me with the role of Laura Wilson in Woman from the Town, and I had the amazing opportunity to be part of the cast for the award winning play, You Wouldn't Expect written by local author Marilynn Anselmi."

But now Tammy's time after work is invested in her two-year old granddaughter, Kylie,"my sunshine", and helping her daughter, Ebonee, pursue her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at NC Wesleyan College. "She will graduate in December!!!  To God Be the Glory!!"   Tammy also has two sons, CC of Charlotte, NC and Brandon of Greensboro, NC.
