THIS SUNDAY IN WORSHIP
July 30, 2017
8th Sunday after Pentecost

5th Sunday Offering for the Florida United Methodist Children's Home

Sermon: Rev. Jim Berlau
Broken & Beautiful: "Inseparable"

Scripture: Romans 8:31-39

Nothing separates us from God; this is Paul's testimony. Not our inability to pray, not our inability to see God's plan for our lives, not our circumstances.  Our God is one who uses all of life to teach us something, to strengthen a place in us, to give us compassion toward others. With warm sun on the face, with humid summer winds at the back, God's people need to know the blessed assurance of the love of God that does not wane, not with long days or longer nights. The very present help of God stands with us in our trials and tribulations. For any distance or disconnect we feel from God is in our head, clouded by doubt or obscured by fear. In difficult times, we need to remember that God is closer to us than we can ever fathom.
New "Short-Term" Romans Bible Study
You are invited to jump into the book of Romans with us from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the youth room each Sunday through September 3rd. This "short-term" bible study promises to be an engaging look at one of the most challenging books in the Bible. Taught by Cindy Wheatley, this class will run concurrently with our new worship series "Broken & Beautiful," as we use Paul's masterpiece for the foundation of our understanding of how beauty and good news are found within the challenging times we encounter.  There is no need to register for the class, just come on in!  We hope to see you there!
Griefshare Class Begins - August 10

It's a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences.  You'll gain access to valuable resources to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life. You don't have to go through the grieving process alone.  Our next class session will begin on August 10th  meeting on Thursday nights from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the youth room.  For more information about this ministry, contact Gloria Barber at 407-276-4025.

Back to School Gift Card Drive - August 13
Our annual Peace School Supply Gift Card Drive is back!  As a new school year is quickly approaching, we again have the opportunity to bless many young people and their parents in this very tangible way.  Because supply lists vary so greatly from school to school, we are once again collecting gift cards and monetary donations.  We will distribute the gift cards to families with children associated with our congregation and our Meals Assistance Program.  If you bring in actual gift cards, please bring in as many as you want to contribute, but keep the denominations lower, like $10 to $20 and from major retailers like Target and Wal-Mart. You can drop them in the offering plate or at the church office.  We will be collecting through Sunday, August 13th Help give a child a great start to the new school year!
Don't Miss Youth Sunday - August 13
Each year the student ministry here at Peace is given the awesome opportunity to lead worship for our church family. On Sunday morning August 13 th,  Peace youth will share their God given gifts and talents.

Our hope is that Peace will embrace students, not just as the leaders of the future, but as part of a generational church, working TOGETHER to serve and glorify God.  Don't miss this Sunday!  Come show our youth your love, encouragement and support. For more information about our program for middle school and high school students, go to our website www.peaceyouth.net or contact Brandon Sangster, Director of Student Ministries, 407-932-8223 [email protected].
