Keeping you connected with the news and events of Trinitarian Congregational Church of Norton
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Can you cook a simple meal, or stop off for takeout? Do you have a small amount of time available to reach out to a church member who could use a bit of help? Sign up for Meal Train and join a group of folks doing just that. We are currently supporting two families and can use some additional members, especially since lots of folks take summer vacations away from town. Contact Linda Kollett. You get to choose the dates when you can help! Thanks so much.
Gillette Team News - We Need YOU!
Okay folks, this is the big push! We have potentially SEVEN EVENTS in 6 weeks coming up but when that push is over, we coast through the Fall and Winter. Here's where we we need help:
8/31 is a Thursday night Preseason Football game - have only 5, so we need lots more help all around

9/2 is potentially a make up Soccer game in the evening - only have 5 so far

9/7 is the big, we mean BIG Season Opener, Thursday night Football game (late arrivals welcomed) and we need at least 3 more!

9/9 a Saturday evening Soccer game - need 6 more

****PLEASE, if you have not worked in a while or you can squeeze in another event, we would appreciate it. This time of year is always our difficult stretch and we can do it but we need help from you!!!!!

It is hard to imagine that the crowds could get any larger but if the practice crowds are any indication, this is going to be a big year for Gillette and US! Contact the church office to sign up or with questions.

Also, if you'd like to help but babysitting is a concern, please let us know!
Vacation Bible School a Great Success!
THIRTY-SIX kids spent a fabulous week at the Surf Shack VBS with 15 excited staff members. Our VBS has been very successful in reaching out to the community - over half of the children in attendance last week are not involved with TCC's Sunday School program. O
ur largest group of kids was the oldest group, many of whom have enjoyed VBS very much over the last 4 years.

Daily we started out with songs led by Kristen and then a visit from our friend Snappy the Crab - the kids really loved Snappy. This was followed by story time with Nancy, snacks with Barbara J., Linda, and Pat W., crafts with Karin, and games with Brooke and Lily. The mission project again this year was to support Kids Cafe, a program by the Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative that serves daily lunches to kids 18 and under while school is out. Thanks to the incredible amount of food and paper goods that families donated, our expectations were far exceeded, filling seven boxes.

NEW this year: by increasing the cost of VBS and with a sizable donation by a member of our congregation, we purchased T-shirts for all 50 kids and staff at VBS. Kristen worked with CustomInk designing the logo on the shirts. She has entered us in a contest with the printing company to be "Ink of the Week." Please check out the link on TCC Norton Events and press "Like" to help us win the contest.

Kristen also sent this message to all the staff: I just wanted to share with you some feedback that we've received from parents. We also had a lot of verbal praise for our efforts last week. So please know that your efforts were appreciated!

"Josephine has LOVED this camp and already asked that I sign her up again next year. Thank you so much!!!!"

"I just want to say THANK YOU very much for a wonderful VBS experience for Timothy. He had a blast every day and was so excited to tell me about everything he learned and the crafts he made. We will definitely be returning next year."

My thanks also to everyone who made this VBS a real BLAST!!!!
