PERSEID METEOR SHOWER/ SOLAR ECLIPSE EVENTS |
T
he Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to experience, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak! It is produced by comet Swift-Tuttle, which was discovered in 1862. The Perseids are famous for producing a large number of bright, luminous meteors. The shower runs annually from July 17 to August 24. It peaks this year on the night of August 12 and the morning of August 13. The waxing gibbous moon will set shortly after midnight, leaving fairly dark skies.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

Join us to count down to the partial solar eclipse, streaming NASA coverage. Refreshments and safety glasses will be available.

Qualifying apparel and footwear $100 or less, per item, are exempt from the state sales tax. This year, the first $40 of a backpack or bookbag purchase is also tax-free. Accessory items, except for backpacks, are not included. The Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week for 2017 is Sunday, August 13 - Saturday, August 19.

Session Two (October 4th) Zoning & Law: legal underpinnings of zoning and land use decisions and legal processes associated with land development review.
Session Three (October 11th) Development Review Process: Learn how commercial and residential developments are reviewed and process to expand or modify existing development.
