Canada Day kicked off the start of summer and it was great to see so many "150" flags waving in celebration and serves as a welcome reminder that we live in a proud and wonderful country.
With the summer mindset, everything seems to move at a more relaxed pace and at times we may be short a team member or two, while we all enjoy a bit of ``fun in the sun``. Rest assured however, there will always be someone here to assist you with whatever you may need.

Manulife Financial Shares
Class Action Suit
If you own Manulife shares you may have recently received a notice to be a part of a Class Action Law suit.
Does this apply to you? Do you need to submit the claim form before the October 9th deadline? If you acquired Manulife shares between April 1st, 2004 and February 12, 2009 (January 26th to Feb 12, 2009 in Quebec) then the answer is 'yes'.
Many of our clients were awarded Manulife shares when the company demutualized in September of 1999 because they owned a Manulife insurance policy. If this is your situation and you have not purchased any shares since, you can destroy the package ~ you are not eligible to participate. BUT, if you are a part of the dividend reinvestment share purchase plan and your quarterly dividends are buying new shares, then you may be eligible to be a part of this suit.
We suggest calling CST Trust Company at 1-800-783-9495 as they are the ones that hold your shares. If you are buying new shares with your dividends, they should be able to provide you with a printout of the details for the period of time in question.
