   SPORTS TRIVIA NIGHT
Friday, June 16
Sports Legends
Nicknames

This is the second in our series of a sports minutiae exercise to help prepare you for the first-ever Sports Trivia Night taking place on Friday, June 16, in our air-conditioned gym.  What better way to kick-off Father's Day weekend than to have dad, grandpa, and your siblings come together for an evening of fun and fellowship. When you're altogether for a Memorial Day cookout or Graduation party, go to our website and sign your team up.

This week's primer focuses on nicknames for some of the most celebrated athletes in recent decades.  The quiz features athletes from the world of the NFL, NBA, NHL, WWE, Golf, Chess, and Soccer.

Each of these stars has also been inducted into their respective league's Hall of Fame.

Sports Trivia Night is sponsored by our Advancement Board and is a new fundraiser for our school.  We are looking for teams of 5 to showcase their knowledge of useless sports information.  Tickets are $125 per entrant or $500 for a team of five.  Each participant will receive pizza and other snacks and are also invited to BYOB.

SSPP Trivia

When our school was founded in 1853.....

......the students didn't enjoy a three-day weekend over the last week of May as Memorial Day, first known as Decoration Day, originally honored only those lost while fighting in the Civil War which ended in 1865.

But during World War I the United States found itself embroiled in another major conflict, and the holiday evolved to commemorate American military personnel who died in all wars.
