Hope this finds you having an awesome summer. I am preparing for my 40th high school reunion!! I usually don't feel that old, but I hurt my back doing yard work. Then I needed my ears checked for a hearing aid. I figured I'd hobble into my reunion in a walker and a hearing aid the size of Dumbo's ears. But after lots of IcyHot Balm and a low normal hearing range score (I'll need an aid in a few years-which I'm okay with), I'm set for seeing old friends. Let the party begin! New in the Harry Potter line!
To help celebrate twenty years of Harry Potter, Bloomsbury is putting out two new books. The titles are "Harry Potter: A History of Magic, The Book of the Exhibition," surveying the subjects studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and "Harry Potter, A Journey Through a History of Magic," taking a historical journey into Harry Potter's world and into the stories behind spells, magical creatures, and wizards and witches.  Another way to celebrate is to look at the old books behind the scenes with Hermione Granger at NYAM's rare books library
Here are 98 books being made into movies right now. Two that I am particularly looking forward to watching are Wonder and A Wrinkle in Time. Click on the book names to see the amazing movie trailers. My favorite line from Wonder is "You can't blend in when you were born to stand out." Both of these movies have incredible casts (think Julia Roberts, Chris Pine, Oprah Winfrey to name just a few). Here are Oprah's thoughts on A Wrinkle in Time.

Looking ahead to 2018 movies: Mary Poppins and more and some highly anticipated (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Star Wars: Hans Solo among others)!

If you are planning events at your school next year, I hope you'll think of me for an author visit. I am always happy to work with a school's budget. Contact me and we will work out something for you and your students. I am really hoping to make it to Maine, Washington, and Oregon this year-that will make all 50 states for me!
