Public Forum - Do not be silent in the face of racism on July 20, at 7 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Church, 2212 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. "Continuing the Response" Background:  On Thursday, July 6, a noose was found hanging from a tree on the southeast corner of 18th and Lombard. On July 13 a gathering at the tree affirmed that this abhorrent act will not divide us. Purpose: To educate us about the severity of this act of intimidation and offer opportunity to talk about its effects. What: We will explore how to recognize systemic challenges to community and strengthen our commitment to the values of community and humanity. Education, Conversation, Action. You are encouraged to be here. Interfaith clergy leaders of Center City Philadelphia meet regularly for conversation and to plan events to draw together neighbors in order to build a better community. Free Classical Piano Concert in Southampton . Enjoy the beautiful sounds of Chopin and Stravinsky on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Redemption Episcopal Church in Southampton (1101 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA). Classically-trained pianist Alexei Tartakovsky, organist at Redemption Episcopal Church, will be showcasing his talents free to the community. The concert is free to the community - donations are welcome. Called "a thoughtful and serious musician" by The New York Concert Review, Russian-American pianist Alexei Tartakovsky is one of the most promising young virtuoso talents of his generation. A highlight of his career was his outstanding performance at the 2015 Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, where he was a semifinalist. He received high praise from members of the jury, including Martha Argerich, Adam Harasiewicz, and Akiko Ebi, who called him a "fantastic musician and pianist". Choral Evensong will be presented at  Holy Spirit, Harleysville at 5 p.m. on  Saturday, July 22 . The service will be sung by the Senior Choir of Holy Spirit along with friends who will travel with them to England in the Summer of 2018 to sing at the Lincoln Cathedral. Featured will be the Magnificat and Nunc Dimitis by Sumsion in A. The choir will also sing a

Vacation Bible School at Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Join St. Martin's for a week of fun, games, scripture stories, and songs as children learn about how to live out God's love in the world! Vacation Bible School runs Monday, August 7th - Friday, August 11th, with a full-day program for rising 1st through 7th graders. Teaming together to serve Halal meals, the Church of the Advocate and the American Muslims for Hunger Relief are pleased to announce a new partnership to serve Halal meals at the Advocate Cafe on the 4th Friday of each month. Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Chestnut Hill is Collecting Donations for its Annual Rummage Sale! Collection occurs in the Parish Hall at Saint Paul's Church, located at 22. E Chestnut Hill Ave., Philadelphia PA, 19118. Drop-off times are Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. until noon and 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Items can also be dropped off on Sunday mornings between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The final drop-off day will be Wednesday, August 30th. A tax letter is available upon request for those contributing goods to the sale.
 
The Rummage Sale itself will take place on Saturday, September 9th from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is $2 at the door. In addition to the Saturday Sale, a Rummage Pre-Sale event will be held the night before. On Friday, September 8th, from 6 until 9 p.m., shoppers can peruse and buy items in all departments. Light snacks and drinks will be served, and admission is just $15 at the door. The net proceeds the sale each year are distributed in the form of outreach grants to non-profit organizations fighting hunger and homelessness in our area.  Some of these organizations include: Aid for Friends, Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and Face to Face in Germantown. Christ Episcopal Church , 311 South Orange Street in Media, PA, offers a Holy Eucharist and Healing Service on Wednesdays at noon. Christ Episcopal Church welcomes all in the community to its services. Our Interim Rector, Nancy James Deming, will celebrate Sunday Services at 8 and 10 a.m. for the remainder of June. There will be one service at 9 a.m. in July and August.
