Independence Day is July 4th.
Our independence is very important to us as a nation and as individuals. We also realize that we are very dependent on others. That is particularly true of some of the patients and their families leaving LAC+USC Medical Center.
We are honored at Angel Interfaith Network that we can be their neighbor, lending a helping hand, in their time of special need.

Thanks to the wonderful crew of volunteers from San Gabriel Presbytery who came and volunteered on June 17! Together we assembled hygiene kits for patients experiencing homelessness, and sorted and organized piles of clothing and diapers.
Rev. N'yisrela Watts-Afriyie from South Hills Presbyterian Church came as a way of honoring her 97-year-old mother, Phyllis Watts, a longtime supporter of Angel Interfaith Network.
Freya Schmus from Shepherd of the Valley came because the tasks matched her energy and desire to lend a hand. Maggie Wu and daughter Rita Chu from San Marino Community Church wanted to share a family experience of service.

not only lost his wife
Rosario
to cancer, but lost his job as he cared for their
14-month-old son and stayed close to his wife's bedside. His social worker requested Pampers, toddler clothing, rental assistance and food coupons. Father Joshua was asked to pray with the family. It is wonderful to have a team of individuals who provide the support a family needs at a time of loss.
Urgent Need:
Our chaplains need 10 wheelchairs that are
new or safe for moving patients to the Sunday Catholic Mass at 9:30 and the Protestant service at 4:30 in the afternoon.
