The Tristate Trauma Network is excited to be hosting its 2017 Fall Conference focused on trauma-informed care. Join us to learn from national and local trauma experts and a trauma survivor. *CEU application being made for OH Counselors, Social Workers, MFTs and Psychologists and KY Counselors, Social Workers, and Psychologists. Tristate Trauma Network is an approved Category 1 provider in IN, allowing continuing education credit for Social Workers, MFTs, and Mental Health in the state of IN. 

10/2/17 CEU Update:

  • 6.0 CEUs have been approved by the KY Psychology Board.
  • 5.25 CEUs have been approved for OH Psychologists via Child Focus, Inc's Provider Status. This Board does not give credit for the self-care mini-session.
  • After some advocating related to the survivor presentation, 5.75 CEUs have been approved for OH Counselors, Social Workers and MFTs :)
  • 6.0 CEUs have been approved by the KY Counseling Board.
  • 6.0 CEUs under TTN's Category 1 Provider Status are being awarded to IN Social Workers, MFTs, and Mental Health. 
  • CEUs for KY Social Workers are still pending. No other CEUs have been applied for. 
  • If your Board isn't listed here, you may conatct Melissa Adamchik, TTN's Executive Director, regarding getting information that you can turn into your respective Board on your own. 

Overall Objectives-1. Participants will understand the importance and impact of trauma-informed care on the healing journey.  2. Participants will understand the ways in which trauma impacts attachment, parenting, and development. 3. Participants will learn intervention and resilience-building techniques for use in working with individuals who've experienced trauma. 4.  Participants will participate in a self-care exercise to help build their own resilience.  

Featured Speaker: Lisa Ferentz, MSW, LCSW-C, DAPA is an internationally recognized expert in the strengths-based, de-pathologized treatment of trauma and has been in private practice for over 33 years. She presents workshops and keynote addresses nationally and internationally, and is a clinical consultant to practitioners and mental health agencies in the United States, Canada, the UK and Ireland. She has been an Adjunct Faculty member at several Universities, and is the Founder of “The Ferentz Institute, formerly known as The Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy Training and Education,” now in its tenth year of providing continuing education to mental health professionals and graduating over 900 clinicians from her two Certificate Programs in Advanced Trauma Treatment. In 2009 she was voted the “Social Worker of Year” by the Maryland Society for Clinical Social Work. Lisa is the author of “Treating Self- Destructive Behaviors in Traumatized Clients: A Clinician’s Guide,” now in its second edition, “Letting Go of Self-Destructive Behaviors: A Workbook of Hope and Healing,” and “Finding Your Ruby Slippers: Transformative Life Lessons From the Therapist’s Couch.” Lisa also hosted a weekly radio talk show, writes blogs and articles for websites on self-harm and self- care, teaches on many webinars, and is weekly contributor to Psychologytoday.com.
