Animated US Flag

Pictured very top:
The Declaration of Independence is the birth certificate of the American nation - the first public document ever to use the name "the United States of America" - and has been fundamental to American history longer than any other text.

Lake Nona Middle School

In the event you have not yet heard, the Florida Department of Education recently awarded Lake Nona Middle School with an 'A' letter grade for the 2016-2017 school year -  FLDOE letter grades As you can imagine, I am very proud of our students' hard work, their teachers' steadfast commitment to excellence, and our families providing support on the home front. WELL DONE KNIGHTS!

I also want to take this opportunity to remind the community of our 2017-2018 Summer Reading Incentive Program. The "summer slide" is very real and we ask that our Knights keep up with their reading while enjoying their summer break.

On Tuesday, millions of Americans will gather to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of our nation in the United State's biggest national holiday. Have fun, but please be safe using any fireworks and remember to buckle up while out on the roads.

In Knight Pride,

Stephanie R. Jackson, M. Ed.
Principal, Lake Nona Middle School

Knight Vital Signs
What Our Knights Have Been Doing This Summer . . .
Mathematics: "Project Calculus"

These students will continue on a higher math course path through high school with the intent of taking calculus. LNMS 7th and 8th graders (along with their teachers and many parents) are seen below at a special celebration after studying both algebra and geometry during the June pre-calculus summer camp.

* Students taking higher math courses are much better prepared to later enter college and explore a wide variety of STEM majors.

Attention 7th Grade Parents

All of last school year's 6th grade students (7th grade students for the 2017-2018 school year) need the Tdap (Tetanus) shot prior to the first day of school. These shots must be recorded on the original Florida Certificate of Immunization (HRS 680) form. The Tdap shot documentation is required by the State of Florida in order to attend 7th grade.

Knight Safety
Knights . . . Have fun on July 4th, but stay safe!
