Vitamin A
Chemical name: Retinol and four carotenoids (including beta carotene).
Fat soluble.
Skin benefits: Encourages healthy skin cell production. Vitamin A also stimulates fibroblasts, the cells responsible for developing tissue that keeps skin firm and healthy in the deep layers of the skin.
Good sources include carrots, broccoli, liver, cod liver oil, sweet potato, butter, kale, spinach, pumpkin, collard greens, some cheeses, eggs, apricot, cantaloupe and organic daily.
Juice Recipe:
1 red bell pepper, seeded and rinsed
1 tomato rinsed
1 piece ginger
Blend in a juicer and serve chilled.
Vitamin B
Chemical Name: Thiamine.
Water soluble
Skin Benefits: S
upports healthy skin, hair and nail growth
Good sources include yeast, cereal grains, sunflower seeds, brown rice, whole grain rye, asparagus, cooked kale, cauliflower, potatoes, oranges, liver and eggs.
Smoothie Recipe:
4-6 oz. spring water
4-6 oz orange juice
1-2 cups kale, rinsed
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/2 cup ice cubes
Monk fruit or other low glycemic sweetener to taste
Blend and serve chilled, with a side snack of sunflower seeds
Vitamin B 2
Chemical name: Riboflavin
Water soluble
Skin Benefits: Involved in secretion of mucus that keeps the skin moistened, helpful for preventing conditions like eczema and dermatitis.
Good sources include asparagus, bananas, persimmons, okra, chard, cottage cheese, organic milk, yogurt, meat, eggs, fish and green beans.
Smoothie Recipe:
8 oz spring water
4-8 oz plain yogurt
1 banana
1 persimmon
1/2 cup ice cubes
1-2 leaves of chard, rinsed
Monk fruit or other low glycemic sweetener to taste
Blend and serve chilled.
Vitamin B 3
Chemical names: Niacin, niacinamide
Water soluble
Skin benefits:
Can improve skin's elasticity, enhance its barrier function, help erase discolorations and revive skin's healthy tone and texture.
Good sources include liver, heart, kidney, chicken, beef, tuna, salmon, milk, eggs, avocados, dates, tomatoes, leafy vegetables, broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, asparagus, nuts, whole grains, legumes, mushrooms and nutritional yeast.

8-12 oz spring water
4-6 dates (pitted)
1/2 avocado
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/2-1 tsp powdered reishi mushroom
1/2 cup ice cubes
Monk fruit or other low glycemic sweetener to taste
Blend and serve chilled

Chemical Name: Patothenic acid
Water soluble
Skin benefits: Has natural broad abilities to moisturize, soothe, heal and regenerate the skin.
Good sources include meats, unmilled whole grains, broccoli, spinach, avocados and royal jelly.
