VIERA, FLA. - A friendly reminder to the public that the Florida East Central Regional Rail Trail section in Titusville, which is slotted for completion this fall, is still currently closed. Until the project is complete, the trail will remain closed to safeguard the public, shelter the construction equipment, and to protect the structural integrity of the new facility.
The Florida East Central Regional Rail Trail will provide residents and tourists with a new transportation facility, where users will be able to safely walk, bike, exercise, and engage in various recreational activities. The project limits are from Kingman Road to the Brevard/Volusia County Line. Over half of the trail has been paved; however, proper signage, marking, and stripping are still being installed. These structural features are essential to the safety of users, especially at points where the trail intersects with roadways.
Users are asked to please remain out of the project limits as construction equipment and hazards may be present until construction is completed. Law enforcement will be conducting patrols to ensure the trail is not disturbed.
Ribbon-cutting and community recognition events are planned for November 2017, during which the public will have the opportunity to celebrate as a community.
