August 2017 News Bulletin

BAYS auditions for prospective new members for the 2017-2018 season will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017. For an audition appointment on this day all prospective members must have their parent or guardian complete the secure online application process HERE

Membership in BAYS is open to all student musicians from the Clear Lake and surrounding areas and placement is determined by audition. 

NOTE: String students from schools with orchestra programs must be a member in their school orchestra. Wind/brass/percussion students from schools with band programs must be a member in their school band.

9/09 New Auditions, re-auditions, and move-up auditions.

9/10 Applications, tuition and/or financial aid applications due today. 

New rehearsal times as follows:
Symphony Orchestra 12:50 - 3:30 p.m. in band hall.
String Orchestra 1:50 - 3:10 p.m. in orchestra room.
Preparatory Orchestra 1:50 - 3:10 p.m. in choir room.

9/17 First rehearsal of the season! All rehearsals will end at 3:00 for General Membership Meeting and refreshments.

10/08 Rehearsal - Symphony Orchestra winds perform at The Grand 1894 Opera House / Symphony strings and percussion will rehearse as scheduled with coaches at Westbrook.

Clef Notes
    • Prep & String Orchestra students wanting to audition for the next level must complete the 2017-18 application process online, then send Mrs. D a request for a move-up audition. Click 'Members' for more info.
    • New for this season: Our annual Concerto Competition will now have a winds/brass division! Click HERE for details and the newly revised competition requirements.  Have questions about music or the Concerto Competition? Contact your conductor HERE.
    • Members and students are encouraged to contact their conductors directly for questions about placement and/or music. Simply double click the 'Contact Us' link to send an email to Trond, Tom or Angela.
