The winter is still kicking pretty hard, but despite that we're gearing up for our first race of the season already! The Northeast Duathlon is just 3 weeks away, and coming up quickly! We've started pre-riding the course on the weekends, as long as the weather cooperates. If you happen to come out to ride or run with us, be sure to dress appropriately for the temperature and the wind from your bike. Even if you're not racing, come out and join us for some early season brick workouts. Everyone is welcome at these, so bring along friends if you'd like!
We're also finalizing some changes to the race series points for this year. Those will be coming out on Facebook and to the TTT website soon. The structure will largely be the same, but with some adjustments to eligibility and point values to change depending on race distances.
As many of you noticed, we kicked up the quality of our Christmas raffle prizes last year, and we started handing out prizes for the race series and added more winners. Part of this was due to us engaging in some volunteer opportunities with the TTT and some of our local race providers last year, which earned the club some extra funds to work with. We're looking to continue with that this year, so keep your eyes open for volunteer opportunities with us throughout the year. If you want to see us continue to have high quality prizes like we did this past year, your support at our volunteer events goes a long was towards making that happen, in addition to helping support our local race community!
We're looking forward to getting the season started this month! Good luck to everyone racing at the Northeast Duathlon!

KIM SIEBOLD!
Meet Kim, she is energetic, always smiling and practically a pro at triathlon. She's been at it for 15 years now and isn't slowing down at all. We just love her best racing tip,
"
Keep in mind that training and racing is a privilege and an honor to do. Keep it in perspective. We are lucky to be healthy enough and have the chance to do this sport. It is JUST only a race and whatever your finish time is, be proud of your accomplishments, no matter what level you are.
Oh, and you also get out of it what you put into it... I'm just saying!!" Great words Kim and good luck on Chattanooga 70.3 in the spring.
If you see Kim, tell her congrats on being our Athlete of the Month!

This month's Sponsor Spotlight is Friendly Dentistry!
I don't know about you, but when I think about triathlon my mind immediately goes to one thing. Oral hygiene! Dr. Guy Ribando of Friendly Dentistry has been known to lay out the red carpet to his patients upon each and every visit to his office. You won't find a more competent, compassionate, and outstanding dentist in Greensboro. And he's got a special place in his heart for triathletes, as he is one, is married to one, is the father of two, and is the dentist of several of our fellow TTT members! So if you're looking for a local dentist to keep those teeth clean and that smile finish line ready, check out Friendly Dentistry and be sure to let them know that the TTT sent you!
