I consider this subject to be, by far, the most important topic in the history of humanity? After all, what could be more important to us than our future as a species?
If you want to share just one BSB with your friends and loved ones, this is the one you should choose.
Series Introduction. We live on a finite planet with limited natural resources, yet our exponential growth in population and consumption levels clearly indicates that we have not yet fully come to grips with exactly what "finite resources" really means.
Now, before starting with the eight BSBs in the series, please take five minutes to view this special video that traces our population from a few million in 1 C.E. to the 9 Billion that are projected by 2050.
Each yellow dot represents one million humans, and by the year 2000, it looks like the entire world is "on fire" as we add almost 3 billion people during the last five seconds of this video--covering 2000 to 2050.
My Series of Eight Sustainability BSBs Begins Here
Final word from the past. This slide from my latest presentation features one
of my
big picture scientists and what he had to say about our future shortly before his death in 1997:
Do you agree with Cousteau? He and the other "big picture" scientists make a compelling case in BSB "C" above, yet I simply can't let myself give up hope--for the future of our children.
After reading the eight BSBs above and doing some of your own research, I encourage you to draw your own conclusions and then hopefully join me in spreading the awareness about this urgent topic.
