"I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one." ~ John 17:20-21a

Susan and I, along with over 4,000 other Disciples from across the US and Canada and around the world, gathered together in Indianapolis for our General Assembly this July. It was an exciting time, filled with wonderful worship, fellowship, business sessions, learning opportunities and networking with colleagues and friends across the life of the whole church.

MEET JANETTE JARA!
Janette Jara is an exceptional young adult who serves the Region through multiple programs. Janette serves in the Media Ministry and Young Adult Ministry at her home Church of FCC North Hollywood. Regionally she serves on the Board as the Young Adult Representative and as an Adult Leader in the Youth Immersion Ministry. Janette says she feels like has a true passion for Young Adult Ministry right now because it's exactly where her life is. She has finished school, is currently building a business, relationships with friends and family, all with the focus on a greater purpose. She feels that in life, she is in a place similar to many young people who need to hear about Gods grace and mercy, and would love to be able to share in the journey with them. READ MORE

Although I've never desired to be a cop, even as a small child - I've always respected what a difficult job it is for those who are sworn to "serve and protect".   In our culture, police are more scrutinized and more criticized than virtually any other group.  Of course, there have been multiple instances when police officers should be scrutinized and held accountable. Continue Reading

ants, do our beliefs truly reflect the message of Christ as it has been passed down to us from the beginning?  Or have we developed into a Church which has distorted th e message and re-made Christ into our own image? Can we solve this predicament?"

Congratulations on Rev. Timothy Murphy publishing his first book, entitled  Counter-Imperial Churching for a Planetary Gospel: Radical Discipleship for Today Weaving together different perspectives, including liberation theology, process thought, postcolonial thought and theology, alternative ecclesiological formulations, and political theory, the book develops a church of radical mission-a way of being in the world that holds together both spirituality and social commitments.
