BookMobile

The BookMobile makes scheduled stops each week at public parks, childcare facilities, condominium complexes, retirement communities, senior centers and recreational facilities. Stops at each of the scheduled locations are usually one hour.

Residents of Miami-Dade County who live within the library's taxing district can take advantage of this service. Residents must have a current library card to checkout materials. Most books may be borrowed for 28 days and videos may be borrowed for 7 days.

Materials may be returned to the Mobile Library or to any branch in the system. Materials borrowed from branches may also be returned to the Mobile Library. Below, we will provide the locations in which the Mobile Library stops in District 10.

Comm. Souto Attends First Movie Night at West Dade Regional Library, 9445 Coral Way



On Monday March 26, 2018, Commissioner Souto attended the first movie night at West Dade Regional Library, 9445 Coral Way. Come and join us every fourth Monday of the month for a free family movie night. Popcorn always provided!

This past Monday, we showed the movie Wonder. Wonder is about a 10-year-old boy with a facial deformity that attends school for the first time when he begins the fifth grade. With the support of his parents, he learns how to make friends and adjust to his new environment.

The next free family movie night will take place on April 23, 2018 at West Dade Regional Library. Stay tuned for more information on the next family movie night at the library.  


 

Updates on the Ronald Reagan Sculpture in Tropical Park

Inauguration: Friday, April 13, 2018 at 6:00 PM

Commissioner Souto is proud to announce that the sculpture of Ronald Reagan in Tropical Park will be up on April 13, 2018. In capturing President Ronald Reagan's admiration and respect for horses, the sculpture will welcome visitors to the Ronald Reagan Equestrian Center at Tropical Park. The sculpture will be sited prominently at the Bird Road (SW 40th Street) entrance to Tropical Park. On Monday, March 26, 2018, Commissioner Souto visited the site with Miami-Dade Parks Director Maria Nardi and Nick Diaz from Manuel Diaz Farms to go over landscaping for the sculpture. On Monday, March 26, 2018, Commissioner Souto and Miami-Dade Parks Director Maria Nardi toured various parks in District 10 such as Concord Park, Westwood Park, Coral Estates Park, Rockway Park and Tropical Park. In their tour of the parks, Commissioner Souto and Parks Director Maria Nardi inspected the conditions of the facilities in each park.

Miami-Dade County Parks is the third largest county park system in the United States, consisting of 270 parks and 13,573 acres of land. It is one of the most unique park and recreation systems in the world. We most stay active with our parks. Please Help Us Report Any Damaged Sidewalks in Your Neighborhood!


In efforts to repair all sidewalks damaged and affected by Hurricane Irma, the District 10 Office continue to check for any sidewalk needing to be repaired. Many sidewalks have been damaged from uprooted trees caused by the hurricane. Below, we have provided pictures of the repairing of a sidewalk on SW 97th Place and SW 19th Street in District 10. If you see any sidewalk that has been damaged by an uprooted tree or that has old asphalt repairs, please call our office, 305 222 2116, to inform of us of the situation. Your help will be appreciated for the betterment of our community.

The District 10 Office is once again starting to prepare for the Miami International Agriculture, Horse & Cattle Show. This year's event will take place on April 13-15, 2018. Get ready for the stampede!

The Miami International Agriculture, Horse & Cattle Show is a unique show created and managed by the District 10 office. We work with Miami-Dade County's different departments, volunteers, and family and friends of the South Florida Autism Charter School. The profits from the Miami International Agriculture, Horse & Cattle Show goes to South Florida Autism Charter School that has received over $600,000 in the past seven years from us; making it a great help for over 220 kids of all races and religions who receive free education. Finances are tightly controlled by the Miami-Dade County Government; assuring total transparency throughout the whole process.
