HR Advantage
On-Boarding & New Hire Orientation Training

Why is proper on-boarding so important? Because turnover is expensive! The cost of replacing an entry-level employee can be 30%-50% of the new hire's annual salary. For mid and senior-level employees it can reach 150 %- 400% respectively. With every departure, morale and productivity suffer. That's why it's vital that an organization hold on to talented people, and they can start by providing a well-designed on-boarding process to educate new employees about their workplace within the larger culture. click here to read more.
Tell Employees What Not to Wear
This Summer

Summer dress code policies should encourage workers t o wear comfortable clothing, which will boost morale, but should also include specific examples of what's inappropriate to make sure employees don't offend others or lose clients. Any policy should clearly define key terms using gender-neutral language and specific  examples.

Examples of appropriate summer attire may include short-sleeved shirts, t-shirts (solid color only), tennis shoes, jeans, and midthigh-length shorts. Inappropriate summer attire may include tank top shirts, t-shirts with logos, swimsuits, cutoff shorts, and open-toed shoes.

Reason #73 for Outsourcing Your HR Function
By Candida Arvizu, HR Advisor

A young HR manager was recently promoted from HR generalist when the former HR manager retired.  She was an outgoing person and had made many friendships within her organization.  Her best friend was the accounting supervisor.  They often talked and laughed in the hallways and went to lunch a couple times each month.
