June 30, 2017
Dear NBTS Alumni/ae,

I have been thinking a great deal about the first time I left New Brunswick as a recent graduate in 1976.  My mind and heart were filled with anxiety about what would happen in the ministry to which I had been called in Johannesburg, South Africa and the years following.  Would I be ready and prepared?  I am not sure any of us are ever ready and fully prepared, but we learn that we are not alone in our work and look to God and friends to carry us along.

Now, I will be leaving NBTS again.  While I am not feeling much anxiety, I am certainly curious about what the next years may hold for Vicki and me.  And the lesson from the early years of my 41-year ministry remain, remember you are not alone but are held by the One who created you and by many who hold you in their affection.

I have every hope that you will extend to our new president, Dr. Micah McCreary, the same support and care you have so generously shared with me. May God continue to bless this deeply rooted and relevant seminary as we form a new generation of leaders for the church and the world!

Gregg Mast
