Ekklesia and the "Day of Caring" Tiny Cottage #6 was Built!

Last Friday, on June 23rd hundreds of volunteers gathered at the Presidents Hall at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds for a morning breakfast and directions to the 27 different projects that were to occur that day. One of the projects was the construction of the #6 tiny cottage for the village that the Homes For All organization is developing for Kitsap County. Three Ekklesia members (Darren Hanson, Gene Cartwright and Tim Blair) led the 15+ workers who volunteered to help that day. We had volunteers from Sub Base Bangor, the Bremerton Lion's Club and six workers from the Silverdale Target store. The United Way of Kitsap County organized our project and the building materials were paid for by the Kitsap Builders Association.
Following our work on Friday we were again blessed by Leo's Towing who moved the new cottage to it's temporary storage location at the Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church on Nels Nelson Rd. The tiny cottage will be stored there until the County Fair in August.  The CK Presbyterian Church has also volunteered to paint the newly built cottage. What an opportunity to serve and connect with many other volunteers in our county!

Annual Classic Car & Bike Show
Sunday, July 9th-
A Fund Raiser for the Tiny Cottage Village
Next Sunday, July 9th, Ekklesia will again meet as a group in the parking lot of
That One Place restaurant to serve and connect with our community! This event will serve as a fund raiser for the Tiny Cottage project that Ekklesia has been involved with. We will host over 75 classic cars and motorcycles who will pay a $20 entry fee. Ekklesia people will sell t-shirts, water, baked goods and just connect with many people in our community. We will also meet interested people who might want to partner with our tiny cottage project. We will need help from everyone to set up the event starting at 8am
