There are some simple things you can do that can make your home more engaging from the street. These improvements can start right at the street something as simple as a new granite mailbox post.  These posts can be rough, hand hewn or precision machined to a smooth surface with the house number carved in, or with numbers mounted on it.  

    Another possible use of granite could be as a lamp post.  There could be a single one near the walkway leading to the house or a row of them lighting the way up a driveway.  Depending on the architectural style of your home, a granite hitching post or two may be appropriate accent piece(s) near the garage.  

    One way to tie all this granite together would be with new granite steps for the front and possibly rear entries as well.  These steps do not have to be just your normal rectangular steps.  There can be a platform at the door and the steps can be custom cut to curves of any radius to match the layout of your home.  Granite steps also make a statement in a paver or brick walkway leading up to the house.
