Today's Tip: Finding Housing
Housing options for new international students are dependent on whether you are entering the University as a new first-year student or as a transfer student. No matter where you live, you will still have an opportunity to become an active member of the University of Maryland community.
ON-CAMPUS HOUSING FOR
NEW (FRESHMEN)
UNDERGRADUATES
New freshmen entering the university are given priority to residence hall housing as it becomes available. If you have not done so already, request residence hall housing by completing the housing and dining online form on the website at http://reslife.umd.edu/
.
Students are assigned to rooms in the order in which requests are received. Preferences for roommates, areas of campus, specific buildings, etc. will be taken into account. For best consideration, all preferences should be submitted to

as soon as possible. Residence hall housing is renewable for a second year and typically for a third year for students who enter the residence halls as freshmen.
WHAT TO BRING
On-campus housing cannot be guaranteed for transfer students. If you are interested in living in the residence halls, you should request residence hall housing by completing the housing and dining online form, on the Resident Life website: http://reslife.umd.edu/
, as soon as possible.
All housing requests are initially placed on a wait list. If space becomes available, even into the early weeks of the semester, students can be moved off the wait list and assigned a room and roommate.
