Worship with Us this Week!
Join us this Sunday morning for Traditional Worship at 9:30am and/or Informal Worship at 11am when our scriptures will be Genesis 22:1-14; Psalm 13; and Matthew 10:40-42 with a sermon entitled  And a Little Child Shall Lead Them. We will hear the difficult story of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis. Jesus will preach hospitality and the responsibility of disciples to nurture children.

How are we responding to this call as a world, nation, state, community, church
and as individuals?

Celebrate the sacrament of communion at our open table.

Love our St Louis neighbors and friends as you share some non-perishable food items this Sunday - a Give-a-Meal Sunday.

Notes to Africa
Denyse has mentioned that the children in her village love anything involving English words. Most students in Tanzania attend Swahili speaking primary schools, but then are instructed in English once they enter secondary school. It's a challenge for teachers and students. I'm sure the kids in her village would love to receive a written note from someone in the United States. I also thought they would love to receive that note on a postcard with a picture on the front. So what I'm asking, if you are willing and interested, whether you travel this summer, or stay in town, grab a post card and write a note on it. We'll put a box in the gathering space or church office to collect them. Toward the end of summer I'll send all of the postcards to Denyse and she can distribute them.
You are a generous group of people! I thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers for Denyse while she is on this journey and I also thank you for the same you offered me during my recuperation. Your kindness is a blessing.
Thank you! ~Cheryl Schrenker

Nathan Rauscher Jazz Quintet Benefit Concert July 8
Hello friends and family!  I have a special performance to announce.  I'd like to invite you all to Parkway United Church of Christ on July 8 at 7pm to hear a benefit concert for the local food pantry  Circle of Concern, performed by my  jazz quintet.

Aaron Brown, Guitar | Steven Johnson, Saxophone | Ellie Pruneae, Piano
Christopher Meschede, Bass | Nathan Rauscher, Drum

Circle of Concern is a food-pantry-plus in West County that helps provide food for thousands of low income clients every month.  They also offer financial aid and scholarship programs for students, and even holiday programs for Thanksgiving feasts and birthdays for children who might not be able to celebrate them.  When I visited their facility on June 15, I was amazed by all of the different needs the organization addresses in their programs.

A minimum $15 donation to proceeds is recommended, and non-perishable food donations are encouraged.

The concert will be held in the Parkway UCC Sanctuary, 2841 N Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO 63131, with refreshments being provided in the Gathering Space.

I'm personally very excited to be working with Circle of Concern on this one, and I hope you all can join me and my musicians in the spirit of giving.  Thank you for your continued support!~Nathan Rauscher
