Colorado PGA REACH Partners to Donate Home to Hero

The opening ceremonies of the 2017 Colorado PGA REACH Invitational held great pomp and circumstance with a backdrop of the majestic Pikes Peak, the presentation of the colors by the Fort Carson Mounted Color Guard, the singing of the national anthem and the awarding of a mortgage-free home to a deserving wounded veteran.

Colorado and Utah PGA Sections Get New Employment Consultant

Keith Soriano, PGA, on Tuesday, June 27, began his new role as an Employment Consultant for the PGA of America. In this newly created position, he will serve as an employment resource for PGA Professionals in the Colorado and Utah Sections of the PGA. With the addition of this position, the PGA of America now has 18 employment consultants.

Volunteers Needed for USOC FLAME Program

We are looking for volunteers to help at the USOC FLAME program on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the Club at Flying Horse from 3:00p to 6:00p. The program will include four stations for students: Full Swing, Chipping, Putting and Career Development.

Second Time Around for Murray

Jaclyn Murray of Grand Junction qualified for the U.S. Girls' Junior as a 15-year-old in 2014, but hadn't been able to book a return trip the last couple of years. However, she rectified that matter on Tuesday by earning her second berth to the national championship.

Coloradans Jackson Solem, Davis Bryant and TJ Shehee qualified at Fox Hill for the U.S. Junior Amateur being held July 17-22 at Flint Hills National Club in Andover, Kan.

Less Than Two Weeks Left to Register for National Car Rental Colorado Assistants Professional Championship

Registration is now open for the National Car Rental Colorado Assistant Professional Championship set for July 31-Aug. 1 at Highlands Ranch Golf Club.  The event is open to Class A-8 Members and all Apprentices who must be eligibly employed and in good standing at the time of entry and the entry deadline date of July 13, 2017.

Due to low participation, the Pro-Superintendent event planned at the Golf Club at Bear Dance on Thursday, July 6 has been cancelled.
Colorado PGA Senior Professional Championship -- Registration Deadline July 26

Registration for the Colorado Senior PGA Professional Championship is now open! The event, open to all PGA Members 50 years of age and older as of Sept. 28, 2017, will be held at Valley Country Club, Aug. 14-15, 2017.

Colorado PGA Women's Championship -- Registration Deadline Aug. 16
 
The Colorado PGA's Women's Championship will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 22-23, at The Golf Club at Ravenna. The championship is open to all female PGA and LPGA members in good standing whom reside or work within the Colorado Section boundaries.

2017 Colorado Section Championship -- Registration Deadline Aug. 23

Registration is now open for the 2017 Colorado PGA Professional Championship set for the Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club, September 11-13, 2017.  The event is open to call Class A Members as well as members classified as Life Member Active and Life Member Master Professional Active.  The entry fee for the event is $250.  The deadline to register is August 23, 2017.

Korte Wins CGA Match Play Champ

For a day that ended on such a high note, Friday certainly didn't start very well for University of Denver golfer Chris Korte.
   
The 20-year-old from Lone Tree Golf Club has been experiencing upper-stomach-area pain periodically in recent years, to the point that it caused him to withdraw from two college tournaments in 2017. And on Friday, when Korte played Kyle Pearson of Meridian Golf Club in the scheduled 36-hole final of the 117th CGA Match Play, the pain re-emerged.

KPMG Extends Agreement with PGA of America and LPGA for the KPMG Women's PGA Championship

KPMG announced this week that it will extend its title sponsorship agreement with the PGA of America and the LPGA through 2023 for the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
