Commissioner Profile: Janet P. Engle

Serving as a chair and commission member of the ACPE International Commission has been a great experience.  Quality assurance of pharmacy education through accreditation and certification both in the US and abroad, has always been an interest of mine.  Having spent many years working with pharmacy faculties in Asia, it has been exciting to extend that effort to other parts of the world. In order to assure optimal medication use and therapeutic outcomes and deliver the very best care to our patients, it starts with providing pharmacists with a strong foundation from their professional degree program. The work of the ACPE International Commission helps promote and advance the quality of pharmacy education worldwide to meet that goal.  To be able to participate in these activities on a global level, sharing best practices in pharmacy education all over the world, has been a unique, enriching experience.
