China
Chinese universities performed well in the World QS rankings, 12 of the Chinese universities are ranked among the top 100 of the world. While the number of students going into and out of China soars, China makes it mandatory to study Chinese Language and Culture for foreign students enrolled in Chinese Universities . It raises a question will the Chinese-English schools be the future of primary education too. On the flipside it might boost the increasing US-China Arts and Education ties.

India
Just before the recent visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US, US government has issued a clarification on H1B visas. In addition to the 65,000 visas issued to those who have secured a job in the US, 20,000 H1B visas can be issued to the students who have pursued higher education in the US. In spite of hate crime concerns in the US, 4,000 students have attended visa interviews at various cities in India. While in India, important reform, GST (Goods and Services Tax), is being rolled out on 1st of July. Though the GST on education services is nil, input tax cost (renting, telecommunication etc.) concerns remain.  Another import reform in discussion is replacement of AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and UGC (University Grants Commission) with HEERA (Higher Education Empowerment Regulation Agency) . Considering these developments Indian higher education sector is in flux at the moment.
