Shabbat Family Service with Preneg, Friday July 7

  Join us for another fun Shabbat Family Service starting at 6:00 pm with a kid-friendly Preneg (pizza & veggies). At 6:30 pm, song, story and worship will be followed by a birthday celebration and oneg with a certified nut-free option at the dessert table. If you will be attending the preneg, make sure to RSVP.  And save August 4 for the next Shabbat Family Service!

Tallit Making Experience

"It started with an email from Rachel Langberg (who I think got the id ea from Deb List) to form a group of B'nai Mitzvah parents that would take tallit-making classes from Cantor Kochko Grey (of Congregation Shir Shalom) and make tallitot for our children to wear during their B'nai Mitzvah service. Innocent enough. Little did I know what it would do to me. There were four of us that signed up. I did not know these women that well, other than in passing. Our first class was at the Cantor's home, picking out colors of thread, fabric and discussing patterns. We all talked about our children's personalities and what colors and patterns would match. The supportive nature of our budding friendships started there... (Read more and comment on TBC's Facebook page!)

Cystic Fibrosis Project - Bridge to Hope

TBC member Peggy Zamore reports that WiAct -- Wilton's Interfaith Action Committee -- will again this year be supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Bridge to Hope project. The TBC Social Action Committee has many local ways for you to help others, from pitching in at a soup kitchen to preparing dinner at an emergency shelter.  New opportunities, dates, and times are posted to the TBC website, so please take a look and see where you can help

Other Community Opportunities. There are also other ways to get involved in our communities. You can serve as a foster family, deliver food to those in need, and/or host a high school child in the ABC program.

It is traditional to light a memorial candle on the eve of the yahrzeit at home and to recite Kaddish when lighting the yahrzeit candle. It is also a custom to make donations in memory of loved ones around the time of yahrzeit.
