WORSHIP THIS SUMMER

THIS WEEKEND

Saturday, July 15 @ 5:15pm - Crossroads Underground
Sunday, July 16 @ 10am - Crossroads Sanctuary

What scares you? Whether it is fear of flying or fear of failure, fear of spiders or public speaking, fear of not being loved, accepted or good enough, we are all afraid of something. Fear is a condition of all our lives, but we don't have to be paralyzed or defeated by it.

This week we explore how God's gift of grace is the antidote to fear. Don't be afraid to invite a friend to join you. Hang around for fruit, muffins and great conversation after worship.

Bonus Summer Mission Opportunity!

As an extension of the important work being done during the Pittsburgh Project and D.C. mission trips, the Crossroads congregation is invited to participate in a wonderful and enriching event run by the Steinbruck Center on Tuesday, July 25th.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students (high school age and older) who were not able to attend the week-long mission trip as well as anyone who is interested in learning more about the challenges many of our neighbors face to maintain self-sufficiency and support themselves and their families with limited resources. We'll have the chance to learn alongside one another as we deepen our sense of compassion and experience God's love and blessings with new eyes and open hearts.

The event takes place from 2:00-5:00PM on Tuesday, July 25th at The Church of the Pilgrims (2201 P Street NW Washington, D.C. 20037). We will meet at the Wiehle-Reston Metro Station at 12:30PM to metro in together. Or you can plan to meet us there (in the Sanctuary at The Church of the Pilgrims). There's no cost for your participation (beyond transportation to/from D.C.).

Please RSVP no later than Saturday, July 22nd by emailing Marilyn Perry. Be sure to indicate whether you'll be meeting us at the Metro or directly at The Church of the Pilgrims.
INTERNATIONAL MISSION TRIP - GUATEMALA
Porch de Salomon's mission is to serve the Least, the Lost and the Last. This is a one week experience where team members take part in building a small concrete block home for an impoverished indigenous Mayan family. The days are spent constructing the home with time built in for interaction with the local people and learning about their culture and way of life. No construction experience is necessary, just a heart and mind open to the transformational power of service!

Total cost of the trip is approximately $1,400.00. A brief informational meeting is scheduled for August 14th at 11:15am in the Discipleship Room at Crossroads.

Come and learn what Porch de Salomon is all about. You can also check out their website at  http://porchdesalomon.org/about-us/ or if you have any questions, you can contact  Kathy MacKrell.
