There's a solar eclipse coming! On August 21 from around 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. a partial eclipse will be visible in Connecticut. (The total eclipse can be seen in a long, narrow path spanning from the west coast in Oregon all the way to the east coast in South Carolina.)

Come to the Library on Wednesday, July 26th at 6:30 p.m. to find out how you and your family can safely view this event. Join CCSU Professor of the Geological Sciences Department Dr. Kristine Larsen on a journey through space and time, as she recounts her personal eclipse viewing adventures and helps you prepare to view an eclipse of your very own.

Dr. Larsen has taught astronomy at Central Connecticut State University since 1989. During that time, she has been deeply involved in community outreach in astronomy as well as work with amateur astronomical groups, such as the Springfield Telescope Makers. She is also a member of the NASA Solar Systems Ambassadors (SSA) Program.
