Effective on October 1, 2017

Local Government
At midnight on June 6th, the 2017 legislature concluded their business. Over 700 of the 1,500 bills that were introduced were signed into law by the Governor. There are various effective dates of these bills, depending on what chapter the bills open or if regulations need to be written.

Below you will find a report for legislation that goes into effect on
October 1, 2017. We wanted to highlight just some of the bills we followed that may impact your business. Included in this report are bills that impact HOAs, employment law, and your interaction with local government.

Two key bills listed in this report include Assembly Bill 169, which brings uniformity to county recorder fees, making it cheaper and easier to do business with Clark County. Another bill of importance is Assembly Bill 241, which requires all permanent buildings and facilities permitted on or after October 1, 2017 to include baby changing tables in their public restrooms.

If you have any questions or concerns with legislation in this report or other bills we followed, please do not hesitate to reach out.
