Evacuation Planning: How One Community Got Started

After a severe storm and a structure fire revealed its vulnerabilities, the rural community of Eagle's Nest, MN, took a hard look at emergency preparedness and started an evacuation plan. Give Your Body a Break From the Heat

Did you know your body is constantly in a struggle to disperse the heat it produces? Most of the time, you're hardly aware of it --- unless your body is exposed to more heat than it can handle, as can happen during hot weather. The heat-related illnesses of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke can escalate rapidly, leading to delirium, organ damage, and even death. Heat-related illnesses are preventable.
