Several years ago my son and family gave me a string of natural pearls for Christmas. I treasure that gift. One day recently I began thinking about pearls, where they came from, how God created them.
The pearl is formed within an oyster. It takes the distress of foreign particle getting stuck in the shell. Instead of ejecting the substance or irritant, the object becomes covered layer upon layer with a substance secreted by the oyster's own body. To support Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry (VCAM) in clothing men of our community, we have begun a "Manly Men's Clothes Drive." Please place your donations in either of the two camouflage barrels.

Give the Debt the Boot!

 The TMF debt reduction campaign is going strong.
Progress is as follows:
TMF Debt Reduction - $15,268.89 in additional payments, $765 per month in pledges
Principal Payments to date:
April - $100 May - $10,905.60
June - $2,638.28
July - $1,765.01 - to be mailed at end of month.
Results - $21,775.22 in interest saved and loan reduced by 66months

| Volunteers to greet visitors to our Children's Ministry Center |
 We are currently seeking volunteers to greet visitors to our Children's Ministry Center. If you have never considered being a greeter, now is a great time to come on board. It's a wonderful way to meet people and put names with faces.
Please speak to Brooke Mercer sometime in the next few weeks to be a part of our new rotation, or simply call the church office at 361.578.2701 and say "I'd like to be a greeter!" We'll say to you what we hope to say to our visitors on Sunday morning: "It's great to have you with us!"

| Looking for a part time job? |
The nursery at First United Methodist Church, Victoria needs two part time employees on Sunday mornings from 8am - 12:30pm and Wednesday evenings from 5:45 - 7:30pm. Employees may be required to work other events during the month. Contact Nursery Coordinator, Dot Kidd, for more information at 361.318.6577.
