$4,300 Raised Last Sunday
Last Sunday Ekklesia met as a group at the That One Place restaurant to help raise funds for the Tiny Cottage Village that we have partnered with in Kitsap County. There were many people from our community that came out on Sunday to enjoy the classic cars, trucks and bikes. Ekklesia people served at several booths selling t-shirts, raffle tickets, baked goods, bottled water and even worked at an inflated bouncy house. We also set up a "Homes For All" information booth to answer questions about the new tiny cottage project. A big thank you is given to all Ekklesia volunteers who helped participate in this community outreach event. We had many fruitful conversations with people interested in the Ekklesia mission and our service to the homeless in our community. At the end of the day the whole event raise a little over $4,300.00 for the Tiny Cottage Village. These needed funds will help with the renovations of a donated portable building from Central Kitsap School District. We will need to install a kitchen with appliances and a bathroom facility for the village including shower.

Cruise Event in Downtown Port Orchard
August 13th
Ekklesia also will have another opportunity to serve in our community next month on August 13th. The annual "Cruise" will again take over downtown Port Orchard along with hundreds of classic cars on display. The #2 cottage that we have placed on a trailer will be moved down to the city owned park on Bay Street for display during the "Cruise" event. We will again set up a display tent with information about the "Homes For All" project. This opportunity to be light in our world will again place us in the middle of a major community event where thousands of area residents will gather.
