CELEBRATE GEORGIA RESTAURANT WEEK JULY 17 - 23

The third annual Georgia Restaurant Week, brought to you by the Georgia Restaurant Association and the Georgia Department of Economic Development, aims to highlight the various dining options that are available throughout Georgia. This week will allow patrons, both local and from out of state, to explore various dining options throughout Georgia for a set price and experience the local Georgia products that are available in Georgia's restaurants.
Restaurants drive economic development, and Habersham is known for its local and award-winning restaurants.  We have some of the best!  Find participating restaurants on ExploreGeorgia.org and browse their prix fixe menus at  http://www.garestaurantweek.com. Dine out. Dine often. Dine Habersham County.

Effective Speaking Luncheon
L-R:  Wendy Behrens, Barbara Coker, Virginia Webb, Nicholas Scheman, Stanley Morgan, Deborah Kinney, Judy Taylor and Larry Peevy.

Approximately 30 or more participants stayed fully engaged during the Chamber's Membership Meeting at The Torch on July 11.  The topic,
Effective Public Speaking, came to life with presenter Nick Scheman, chairman-elect for the Gainesville Toastmasters Club, singing, energetically moving around the room, and giving tips on public speaking.  With enthusiastic audience participation, several demonstrated their skills with extemporaneous recitations.  Members of the group showed an interest in establishing a Toastmasters group in Habersham County.  If you are interested in being involved in a group or learning more about one, please contact Kristy at the Chamber by email at [email protected] or call 706-778-4654.
