Filmmaker visits Cornucopia's Farm to Fork!

We were honored to have Douglas Gayeton, an award-winning American multimedia artist, filmmaker, writer, and photographer, visit our Farm to Fork Fellows and hoop house this week.

Farm to Fork Fellows
Gayeton directs the Lexicon of Sustainability and the PBS Know Your Food series, and was in Peterborough to photograph our Tomato Project, a ground-breaking Farm to Fork research project using cutting-edge technology to measure what's in our food and how all of that ultimately correlates to taste. For tech lovers. . .check out this article on the Internet of Tomatoes

Thank you Douglas for including the work of these amazing students in your food and farming conversations. Stay tuned for the final product!

Connecting children to land and nature

We're a few days away from launching Kids Connect! Farm, Field & Forest, our first summer youth program at Four Winds Farm in Peterborough, and want to introduce you to the two amazing educators who are coordinating the adventures!

Betsy Small Campbell
Beginning July 17, Betsy Small Campbell, Lead Program Coordinator, and Jennifer Trapani, Assistant Program Coordinator, will bring their passion for nature, farming, and healthy eating to children at Four Winds Farm in Peterborough. This 5-week (twice weekly) program is made possible through funding from the Caswell Foundation and a partnership between the Monadnock Conservancy, Cornucopia Project, and Four Winds Farm

Jennifer Trapani
The sessions aim to
promote self-esteem, teamwork, and healthy eating by fostering a connection to land and nature through a variety of farm settings: garden, field, forest, pond, as well as time to cook with ingredients right from the farm!

We still have a few spots open for children entering grades 3 to 6. The cost is $150 per child for 10 sessions, or tuition-free for eligible families. For more information please email [email protected].

Talk on benefits of eating pasture-raised meats and dairy

Don't forget to attend one of the Wellness Lunch and Learn programs at the Peterborough Library this summer. In partnership with the Cornucopia Project, the series explores wellness from six unique perspectives.

On Thursday, July 20, farmer Dan Holmes from Four Winds Farm in Peterborough will give an informative talk about the nutritional benefits of pasture-raised meat and dairy with those raised conventionally.

The public is invited to bring their lunch for these free noon to 1 p.m. talks. Read more about the program here.

We're all settled in!

We can now be found at our new offices at 49 Vose Farm Office Park, just down the road from our Farm to Fork hoop house. The new space provides us with more room for our growing programs and abundant storage for our program supplies.

Thanks to everyone who helped pack, move and feed us. Hats off to the amazing team of camp volunteers from the Barbara C. Harris Camp & Conference Center for spending a day with us moving boxes into our new office and helping out at the Farm to Fork hoop house. Come visit us at Suite 110, you'll love our new space!
