Member & LCC Alumni in the News

Walnut Creek Chamber member and Leadership Contra Costa Alumni Victor Mataraso  has opened the doors to Victory Workspace Walnut Creek, formerly Laptop Lounge, which has been renamed, rebranded, and relocated to the heart of downtown Walnut Creek, now at 1261 Locust Street, at the corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Locust Street.   Victory Workspace Walnut Creek is a shared work environment and community for entrepreneurs, business owners, freelancers, and startups, offering office infrastructure and support services, such as open workstations, dedicated desks, private meeting rooms, business address and mail handling, and live telephone receptionist service. With the transformation, the distinctive shared work environment model moves from a 3,200-square-foot space to 6,400 square feet, with expanded serviced amenities and striking views of Mount Diablo. Open to the public and by membership, Victory Workspace Walnut Creek offers an environment where people can work independently, but where they don't have to work alone. Alive and Well
RETAIL'S REINVENTION STORY IS JUST GETTING STARTED
Mark Mathews | June 14, 2017

Reports of the industry's death are greatly exaggerated. NRF's vice president of research looks at the numbers to see what's really going on. We've all heard that retail is in trouble - even serious trouble, depending on who you listen to. It's true that some large, well-known brands are facing challenging times, just as in every industry. But the narrative that retail is struggling - or even dying - is significantly overblown. Nobody questioned the viability of mobile technology when people ditched flip phones in favor of iOS and Android devices. It's clear that retailers are responding to a changing and challenging environment, and as in any evolving industry, some will succeed while others fail.  Click here  for complete article.
