2017 Qu een Bee Runners Needed
 Saturday, October 7,  2017

Hey Ladies - Are you and your pals ready to get moving to support the children of Ohio Valley Voices? We would love for you to run/walk a 4-Mile event or a Half Marathon for OVV in the 2017 Queen Bee.

How to get started:
1. Set up a fundraising page and share it with friends and family.
2. Email OVV Development to receive a discount code.
3. Register for the Queen Bee
4. Train for your run/walk.

Each runner is asked to set up a fundraising page and do some crowd funding. We challenge each runner to go above and beyond the minimum pledge ($100), as each penny goes directly back to helping the children and programs at Ohio Valley Voices.  After you have set up your fundraising page please contact OVV Development to receive a discount code to register for the Queen Bee.

This code will provide you with a special price of $30 for the 4-Mile event and $70 for the Half Marathon. This discount may be used and is valid for those prices through October 5, 2017 when online registration ends.  Keep in mind, the event sold out about 2 weeks prior to the end of online registration last year, so please ask your fundraisers to sign up early!

For more information or help on how to set up your fundraising page, please contact Development.

GE Volunteers "Dig" OVV!

On a VERY hot and humid afternoon, a wonderful crew from General Electric helped spread and seed soil around the OVV grounds. They redistributed several cubic yards of soil to fill in divots and dips from land settling as well as cleaned up old lumber and dead tree branches near the Nature Trail.

"Now there is more room for our kids to run and play on an even lawn," declared Carey Ratliff, OVV Program Director. OVV could not be more appreciative of the selfless volunteers willing to give their time and talent to us.  Thank you GE!

In Case of Emergency!

This is a topic we never want to discuss or a plan that we never want to execute, but in case of emergency, OVV is in need of 20 Safety Back Packs!

One backpack is needed in each classroom and therapy room, should there be a weather or other emergency and children need to shelter in a safe place.  OVV has selected specific safety items for the backpacks, plus several safety walking ropes if we must vacate the building.

Please consider donating $115 to fill one full back pack. For more information please contact Director of Development, Susan Cleverly.

Event Committee Volunteers

The plans are already starting for the  2018 Superhero Gala , but there is still time for you to get involved. Ohio Valley Voices relies heavily on events to help financially support the programs that teach children who are deaf or hard of hearing to listen and talk. To pull off these events, numerous volunteers are needed. Please contact Jackie Estes , Development Manager, if you are interested in participating in this year's gala.
