LUM Students Planning a Vegetable Garden
LUM Garden - A Wonderful Learning Opportunity
Dr. Tim Reutebuch, associate professor of social work at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, met with the students enrolled in the LUM After School Program to begin the planning of a LUM vegetable garden. The garden will offer many meaningful opportunities to teach the children about science, math and healthy choices while building their self-confidence, responsibility, and self-sustaining life skills. They will also experience the taste of their own, fresh vegetables, while enjoying some fun, outdoor time.

The garden will be created by the LUM After School Program students in late April (Earth Day) and will be maintained and harvested throughout the summer months by the students enrolled in the LUM 5th Quarter Summer Learning Program.
