French Lick Resort Hosts Inaugural Women's Senior Golf Championship
 

If you love championship golf, you will not want to miss the 2017 Inaugural Senior LPGA Championship to be played on The Pete Dye Golf Course on July 10-12, a course quickly becoming one of the most highly acclaimed in the country. The field of 81 players will feature a collection of past greats in the women's game including LPGA Hall of-Fame members, current LPGA members and major champions over the age of 45. The 54-hole event will feature a total purse of $600,000. There will be no cut.

Prior to the 2017 Senior LPGA Championship, French Lick Resort is excited to also be hosting one of the new stops on the Symetra Tour 2017 schedule. The Donald Ross Centennial Classic will be a three-day, 54-hole championship played July 7-9, 2017 on the century-old course bearing the same name.

John Deere Classic Celebrates 20 Years Of World Class Golf - Will Ryan Moore Repeat As The Champion?
 

The John Deere Classic also has been a place where young players get their starts, often by way of sponsor invitations. In addition to Spieth (2012) and Day (2006), other past sponsor exemptions whose careers have panned out include British Open champion Zach Johnson (2002-'03), Matt Kuchar (2001), Bill Haas (2004), Patrick Reed (2013), Webb Simpson (2008) and Tiger Woods (1996). In the world of amateur golf, the following players have received exemptions for 2017: Wyndham Clark, Nick Hardy, Dylan Meyer (2016 Western Amateur Champion), and Maverick McNealy. They will be included in a field of 156 players, July 10-16, at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois where defending champion Ryan Moore will compete with 156 other top players for a purse of $5.6 million, with $1 million for the champion.

Skokie Country Club Prepares To Host Elite Amateurs For 2017 Western Amateur Championship
 

One of the world's oldest amateur golf championships will again be played on Chicago's North Shore when Skokie Country Club in Glencoe, Illinois, hosts the 2017 Western Amateur from July 31-Aug. 5. Founded in 1899, the Western Amateur is the world's third oldest amateur championship behind the British Amateur (1885) and the U.S. Amateur (1895), and attracts 156 top-ranked golfers from around the world. Past champions include Jack Nicklaus (1961), Phil Mickelson (1991), Tiger Woods (1994), and Ryan Moore (2004).

Reigning Western Amateur champion and University of Illinois standout Dylan Meyer will defend his title and headline a field that also will include 2015 Western Amateur champion Dawson Armstrong of Brentwood, Tennessee, and 2014 Western Amateur medalist and Texas standout Doug Ghim of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Ghim's Longhorn teammates Gavin Hall and Scottie Scheffler and 2017 Masters low amateur Stewart Hagestad also have committed to play.

Skokie Country Club is listed among Golfweek Magazine's Top 100 Classic Courses. Founded as a nine-hole club in 1897, the core of Skokie's current routing was laid out by legendary golf course architect, Donald Ross.
