A chance to sing your favorite hymn!
|
During the summer, the ministers aren't choosing the hymns for each Sunday, but instead are giving the congregation the chance to select them. So think about what you'd like to sing and come ready with your request. Only three can be sung each week - but over the course of the summer, that's 33 hymns!!
|
|
If you miss church on Sunday or want to hear the sermon again, you can do so at the following link
Sermon Archive.
Due to technical difficulties, Brendan's sermon from July 2nd wasn't put online until this week - along with his sermon from July 9th. They can both now be heard at the link above.

Riverwalk Accessibility Project - let's make it happen this summer!
|
|
The Riverwalk Accessibility Project needs your support
|
We have plans to make the Education building more accessible for those with mobility challenges coming from the sanctuary but it can't happen without your financial help. We hope you will make a donation to support this effort. Thank you to those who have already done so.
We need to raise more money to make this project a reality – and our hope is to do it this summer ** Learn more and see pictures at
www.bccucc.org and follow the link to the Riverwalk Accessibility Project.
A Donation form for the Riverwalk Accessibility Project
is available
at this link.
** Because the walkway will go through the playground and involves moving earth and regrading, it has to happen in the summer while Tot's Preschool is not in session.

Update on Refugee Families & Fundraiser at RI Film Fest
|
The Mission and Justice Team has been talking with folks from Saints Matthew and Mark Episcopal Church on how we, BCCUCC, can help them support a refugee family. They are currently committed to supporting a family from Eritrea: a mother with four children, and now have been asked to help one or two new families to become settled over the next couple of weeks. These families have all been in camps for over two years and have been thoroughly vetted. One way to help is to take part in a fundraiser offered by the RI Film Fest. Tickets are available by contacting Helen Schall (245-4724 or
helenschall@hotmail.com and are available for opening night,
Tuesday, August 8th at 7 pm. This event is being held at the Providence Performing Arts Center and cost $10.00. Find out more at
www.rifilmfest.org
The needs for continuing support of the families are many, but financial help is the most "all-purpose." Your check to BCCUCC with "Refugee Support" in the memo line will go directly to Sts. Matthew and Mark to help them in their budgeting of resources. As we learn of specific requests, we will pass that information on to you.

In 1851 “a committee to consider the propriety of altering and repairing the meeting house” made the following report.. “that it is proper and desirable that the Meeting House be altered or repaired as it would promote the happiness and convenience of those who may worship in said house and also the respectability of the Religious Society of this place. It is obvious that every community derives its character from the exterior and interior of the house in which Jehovah is worshipped”.
Please note the “exterior" in this quote and help as you are able to support the Riverwalk Project.
(Information about the Riverwalk Accessibility Project is included earlier in this eBridge. We hope you can help support it with a donation).

Summer worship is at 9:30 a.m.
|
Don't forget to come to church a half hour earlier at
9:30 am during the summer months (now thru September 3rd). We're taking advantage of the coolness of the sanctuary earlier in the day, which also allows more time for everyone to go out and enjoy the summer weather for the rest of the day. We hope you will join us as you are able.

|
The Bereavement Group is taking a break over the summer and will resume meeting in September. However, if anyone has any questions or concerns during the break they may contact Betsy Brenner at jsbeeb@aol.com or 245-8031.
