The memorial service for Martha will be this Saturday, July 15, at 10:00am at First Universalist Church in Rochester, 150 S Clinton Ave, Rochester, NY 14604. Please hold Brian Hurlburt and Jim Goff in your hearts and prayers. Jim is recovering from open heart surgery last week. Welcome to our Lay Worship Associate Team
by Rev. Tina Simson

I am delighted to announce the formation of our Lay Worship Associate Team. Starting this Sunday, this team will be actively involved in weekly worship, planning special services like Home Coming and Solstice, and offering themselves to our Youth Group as advisors on worship. Earlier this spring, I tapped about 30 individuals who had expressed interest in being on the team, or who had demonstrated the kind of presence needed to be a worship associate. Eleven individuals stepped up and said yes. We met for training in May and practiced various parts of worship. These folks will offer opening words, meditations and occasionally sermons. This weekend members of this team will offer the entire service. We are all in for a treat! The members of this team include Ahlia Kitwana, Jill Poremba, Otto Cuyler, Anna Cuyler, Nicole Delgrosso, Suzy Farrell, Sue Steepy, Shadia McAnally, Jule Sanchez, Joe Simson, and Deborah White. They will join other church members who have occasionally shared in the celebration of worship with all of us. If you are interested in being part of this generous group of folks, please email me at [email protected].

Black Lives Matter/Youth Lives Matter Task Force (BLM/YLM)
The BLM/YLM Task Force will meet again this Sunday, July 16, at 11:15am. Last Sunday, Jon Greenbaum presented on this summer's police accountability board campaign, and approximately 30 people attended. Our agenda for this Sunday's meeting is to develop an action plan for this accountability campaign, and to discuss our plans for an in-depth series of workshops on white privilege this fall. For more information, email Roberta Buckle.
Serve Needs Greater Than Your Own - Golf in the UU Open This Sunday
Serve needs greater than your own through golf? Perhaps golfing allows us to take care of ourselves so we are energized and ready to serve those greater needs. Certainly, if you find golf a rejuvenating activity, sign up for the 20th Annual UU Open to be held this  Sunday, July 16at 1:00pm at Parkview Fairways. We are grouped in equivalent foursomes and play 9 holes in a scramble format. If your team delivers the best score, you'll have your name engraved on the UU Open trophy.  After the round, there is a fun time recognizing the top performers and enjoying a dinner together. All this for just $45 if you walk or $50 if you ride a cart. Email  Larry Eldridge today to see if there's still room available.
Church Parking Lot Being Re-Paved
Our church parking lot is scheduled to be paved on Monday, July 17, with a rain date of Tuesday, July 18. Please note the parking lot will not be available during that time. If you have to come to church, you will need to park on Winton Rd. We encourage carpooling when possible.

People Are Still Hungry!
Some of us may be on vacation, but food insecurity doesn't take a holiday. Buy an extra can of meat, fish or vegetables to bring to church and know you've helped someone out.  For further information, email Alison Wilder or call 585-342-2459.
