Our Noble is 11 years old!
She doesn't get as much attention as Chloe (or as Shadow did), but Noble is a wonderful cat.
She's been with us since Kona Stories opened and continues to greet customers every day. Noble is very low maintenance; all she asks for is a scratch on the back. So, next time your in the store, give her a scratch as a birthday present!
We will be closed Tuesday, July 4th for Independence day!

Our Fiction Group: Commonwealth by Ann Patchett.
Commonwealth
The acclaimed, bestselling author Ann Patchet tells the enthralling story of how an unexpected romantic encounter irrevocably changes two families' lives. One Sunday afternoon in Southern California, Bert Cousins shows up at Franny Keating's christening party uninvited. Before evening falls, he has kissed Franny's mother, Beverly--thus setting in motion the dissolution of their marriages and the joining of two families. Told with equal measures of humor and heartbreak, Commonwealth is a meditation on inspiration, interpretation, and the ownership of stories. It is a brilliant and tender tale of the far-reaching ties of love and responsibility that bind us together.
This best-selling novel from one of our favorite authors will be the topic on Tuesday, July 11 @ 6:30.

Our Non-fiction group: And Then All Hell Broke Loose: Two Decades in the Middle East by Richad Engel
Based on two decades of reporting, NBC's chief foreign correspondent's riveting story of the Middle East revolutions, the Arab Spring, war, and terrorism seen up-close--sometimes dangerously so. Engel has been under fire, blown out of hotel beds, taken hostage. He has watched Mubarak and Morsi in Egypt arrested and condemned, reported from Jerusalem, been through the Lebanese war, covered the whole shooting match in Iraq, interviewed Libyan rebels who toppled Gaddafi, reported from Syria as Al-Qaeda stepped in, was kidnapped in the Syrian crosscurrents of fighting. It is a succinct and authoritative account of the ever-changing currents in that dangerous land. We will discuss on Tuesday, July 25 @ 6pm.

Our Travel group will take a break until October. It should come as no surprise that the readers who attend this group like to travel!
