A Message from the Dean, Fr. James Burns

In light of the recent violence in Charlottesville, Virginia we affirm that Boston College is an inclusive and welcoming community, committed to peace and the respect of human dignity for all, while working towards an end to violence and injustice.  Please remember that the Woods College is here as a resource and support during these challenging times.

Pope John Paul II's Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace,
who are yourself our peace and reconciliation,
who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace.

Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice,
and brotherly love.
Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace.

Enlighten our rulers that they may
guarantee and defend the great gift of peace.
May all peoples on the earth
become as brothers and sisters.
May longed for peace blossom forth
and reign always over us all.

- Pope John Paul II

Sarah Says
A piece of advice from long term BC Woods College employee, Sarah  Piepgrass,
Academic & Student Services Specialist:

The dreaded "Back-to-School." There, I said it. YIKES! But as summer winds down during the last couple of weeks before the Fall semester starts, please take some time for yourself to regroup, renew, and then restart. Having met with your advisor and finalized your registration, prepare for the new term by checking in advance on things like the classroom locations of your courses, the status of your student account and tuition bill, what textbooks you'll be needing, and of course whether you need to buy or waive BC's health insurance.

Remember that in addition to the Woods College staff and advisors, Agora and the WCAS website provide the information you need.

In Agora you can find classroom locations (click "Course Information & Schedule" in the Academics and Courses pane), tuition bill (click "My Bill" in the Account and Personal Info pane), and insurance waiver (click "Medical Insurance" in the Account and Personal Info pane). For textbook info, see the BC Bookstore website and use the drop-down menus to navigate to each course number. The WCAS website also has lots of other important information, including details about upcoming events, links to syllabi, academic regulations, and the WCAS-specific academic calendar. See you very soon!
