We educate, encourage & empower children with diabetes
and their families to LIVE WELL!
Summer might be ending...but the fun isn't!

Summer at Camp Seale Harris has come to a close with our final camp concluding on July 28. We successfully served 500 children and families from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, & Tennessee over the span of 2 months! We're so grateful for the opportunity to educate, encourage & empower children with diabetes and their families to live well.

Camp isn't only for the summer - Camp Seale Harris is year-round!

As the temperatures cool down, Camp Seale Harris heats up the fun with Fall Family Camp in October and plenty of Community Programs to keep you connected with your T1D friends.   Click here to view our community programs calendar.

We Made a SPLASH at Coastal Camp Seale Harris!

Coastal Camp Seale Harris wrapped up our summer full of diabetes camps across Alabama in beautiful Mobile, AL the last week of July. Campers enjoyed activities such as: fishing, boating, swimming, ropes course, and horseback riding! Volunteer staff from USA Children's & Women's and Nemours Pensacola stayed all week long making sure campers were safe and well taken care of.

Visitors at Coastal Camp Seale Harris

Kris Freeman with campers

Olympic Skier and Lilly Diabetes Representative Kris Freeman spoke to the campers about how to achieve their dreams no matter what obstacles might come their way. Kris spent the day enjoying activities with campers such as archery, basketball and horseback. Kris is competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics this year - we will be cheering him on!

Novo Nordisk Runner Stephen England

Team Novo Nordisk Runner Stephen England spoke to the campers about his journey with Type 1 Diabetes and how it has taken him to where he is today. Stephen made sure to answer each campers question and give them encouragement for their future. He recently competed in the Fat Dog 120 where he says he ran for "all of the cool #T1D kids" he met at Camp Seale Harris! Thanks for running for us and continuing to advocate for T1D, Stephen!

Mobile Lions
Gulf Shores Lions

Atmore Lions

Lions Clubs from across South Alabama traveled to Coastal Camp Seale Harris to serve our campers delicious meals such as: chicken & mashed potatoes, BBQ and hamburgers! Campers look forward to the nights that the Lions come and cook for them and we are so appreciative for all that the Lions do for Camp Seale Harris.

Camper Awards

Campers were recognized for their participation in the Diabetes WALK for Camp Seale Harris  and for their acheivements throughout their week at camp at the Coastal CSH parent program.

What some parents missed was what top WALK fundraisers had the honor of doing - Soaking the Counselor! This is one of the highlights of our  campers fundraising journeys.

Want to know how to Soak YOUR Counselor next year? Email or call Mary Ellen Dixon at (205) 402-0415.
Back to School with CSH

Summer has officially ended and our campers are back in school! Is your camper rocking their Camp Seale Harris swag? We'd love to see photos. Make sure to tag @campsealeharris in any pictures of your camper showing their CSH support!

If you've just recently been diagnosed, or are starting at a new school - this article from Beyond Type 1 is  a great resource. Make sure your child is receiving the best care possible while they are out of your sight!
