tman23: BAGHDAD — At least three people are reportedly injured by a blast in Iraq’s capital city of Baghdad overnight on Monday, the ministry of interior confirmed. A source from the ministry revealed that the explosion was carried out via an improvised explosive device (IED) near a UN office in Baghdad’s Baladiyat district.
Security forces soon after the attack arrived and cordoned off the scene. Ambulances moved the injured to a nearby hospital, the source added. AS FOREIGN INVESTORS ARE WAITING IN LINE TO OPEN BUSINESS AND INVEST ...... RIGGGGGHHT !! LOL

Blinkster: May i bring this thought here? Okay...ALL IMO....Over the last 5 days we have seen many VERY attractive things in the press regarding Iraq and the IQD...one aspect that really has my attention is this:
1. PM Abadi announced he is leaving the Dawa party (and disassociating himself with Maliki who is in the same party)
2. Next we see an announcement that PM Abadi is opening a 'Deep Investigation' into the fall of Mosul, and of the Speicher massacre....the capital letter "M" comes to mind.
3. PM Abadi announces the forming of his own party.
4. The US White House Announces full support of a new Iraqi Govt, Led by PM Abadi. (ie the Trump Administration has full confidence in Dr. Haider al-Abadi to continue as PM of Iraq, and pretty much a no-confidence vote for the current parliament.)
