The application for KDB's 2017-18 Environmental Education Grants program is NOW OPEN! Sample projects include: outdoor learning centers, school murals, campus beautification, tree planting projects, butterfly gardens, vegetable/food gardens, rainwater collection, recycling education programs, and more!  Deadline to apply is October 16 at 5 p.m. Inspiration, guidelines, and the application can be found here.
Neighborhood Beautification GrantsNeighborhood

Get funding for your neighborhood improvement project this fall through KDB's Neighborhood Beautification Grants program! Available for neighborhoods, nonprofits, and community groups, Neighborhood Beautification Grant Projects must achieve one or more of the following: 
  • Improve public spaces
  • Beautify the City
  • Nurture a shared sense of neighborhood identity and community pride

Free Trees for Your Business!
Did you know that trees have been shown to improve businesses by boosting foot traffic in and increasing sales?   KDB wants to give YOUR business FREE TREES through the Trees Mean Business program - planting and delivery included! To receive trees this fall,  apply here  by the deadline: October 16 at 5 p.m.
Organize a Mini Tree Giveaway for You and Your Neighbors!
Host a tree giveaway in your neighborhood this fall through the  Tree Your Block program! 
This program is a neighborhood-based tree giveaway program that targets Denton neighborhoods with lower-than-average tree canopy cover. Apply by October 16 at 5 p.m.  read more and apply today!
Apply for a Tree Rebate beginning September 1!
We've teamed up with the City of Denton to give you even MORE resources to plant trees at your home or business! The Tree Rebate Program - one of six programs offered through the Denton Tree Initiative campaign - offers a $50 utility bill credit when you plant a qualifying tree (up to 5 trees per cycle) within the Denton city limits between September 1, 2017 and May 1, 2018. Read more and take advantage of this great resource to help Denton increase its tree canopy.
Trees Mean Business , Tree Your Block , and the Tree Rebate Program are all offered as part of the  Denton Tree Initiative , a campaign from Keep Denton Beautiful and the City of Denton to increase Denton's tree canopy by offering free trees, forestry education, and tree planting incentives to Denton residents, businesses, neighborhoods, and schools. Community Tree Giveaway! TreeGiveaway
Tree Giveaway registration opens September 18!
Beginning September 18, you can register online for a FREE TREE through KDB's Community Tree Giveaway. For the past 19 years, this flagship KDB program has provided more than 700 free trees each year to Denton residents. Available tree species vary, but all are native and adapted to the North Texas climate. Trees and species selections are first come, first served. Don't miss your chance to take home your very own tree!

KDB Members can register for a free tree ONE WEEK EARLY, so be sure to join today for this special members-only benefit!

*Note: Participants must pick up their tree on Saturday, October 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Denton Landfill, 1527 S. Mayhill Rd. Any trees not picked up will be forfeited and distributed through another KDB tree planting program.
