JFCS offers 6 week
BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROU
  August 10 - September 14, 2017
Facilitated by Rabbi Jonathan R. Katz

The passing of a cherished loved one marks a profound life turning point. Too often, we try to "tough it out" without exploring our grief in ways that can enable us to grow and regain the spiritual and emotional footing needed to return to active life even in the wake of deep loss.

The Bereavement Support Group, offered under the auspices of the Jewish Healing Program which is funded by a grant from The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee, will be facilitated by JFCS Community Chaplain Rabbi Jonathan R. Katz and Social Work Intern Shari Jansen.

This six-week group, open to men & women, provides an opportunity to:
● Learn how others are dealing with grief
● Gain coping insights
● Receive support & understanding
● Cultivate personal resilience
● Examine how loss impacts us
● Experience newfound strength & hope

Time:  10:30 a.m. - Noon
Location:  JFCS, 2688 Fruitville Road, Sarasota
Fee:  $36 (includes all six sessions)
*PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear Volunteers,

When I think of our volunteers I think of time and values. In our lives, one thing we cannot create, buy or even borrow is time. We have a limited amount of time for sleep, work, family and our own interests. Therefore, an individual's time is a very precious commodity.

Some of the strongest values, service and sacrifice are shown when one places the needs of another above their own.  Great volunteers never want anything in return, but are always ready to do great things out of turn.

The continued dedication of our courageous and caring volunteers is eminent and appreciated.

Thank you for all you do!

Cindy Underwood

JFCS Honors Volunteers at Annual Brunch on October 19th

JFCS was founded in 1985 by volunteers who were committed to the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam...Repairing the World. Each year, JFCS of the Suncoast honors individuals for their commitment to community service and for making a difference in the lives of children, families, seniors, veterans and individuals who are effected by a cancer diagnosis.
